Knife crime, a notorious crime in the county, actually fell by almost more than 16 per cent and in Wellingborough it fell by nearly 30 per cent following Operation Revive.
The Chief Constable is also famous for his unfiltered posts on his Twitter page, in which he often personally takes on critics of Northants Police. He said in a recent Q&A, "if you want to have a go at me, I have a thick skin and it bounces off, but if you're going to attack my officers or staff then I'm going to give it to you back."
The commissioner said: “It is my responsibility to appoint the chief constable, and I take that incredibly seriously. I believe that Nick Adderley should remain as chief constable. I have taken the views of frontline police officers and staff, and of key partner agencies into account, and they have only confirmed my view.
“Policing is subject to demands and drivers that change every day. Alongside that, recruitment to policing like other professions, is challenging and I will expect Nick to ensure his leadership team is the best it can be.
