Even in defeat, Collingwood superstar Nick Daicos is thinking like a winner. The sublime 21-year-old’s side slumped to 13th on the AFL ladder after a 66-point loss to Hawthorn on Saturday, leaving their premiership defence in tatters.
Conversation between Nick Daicos and Luke Breust comes to light. Daicos had 24 disposals and kicked a goal in the game but the Hawks, who are among the league’s hottest teams despite sitting outside the top eight, were far too good for last year’s premiers. It’s made the footy world question whether the Magpies have lost the same competitive edge that shot them to the top of the table over the past two years, having already climbed the mountain in 2023.
