A big name is set to be the next keynote speaker at Faulkner University’s annual Benefit Dinner.
Alabama's former head football coach will speak at Faulkner University's biggest fundraiser.MONTGOMERY, Ala. - A big name is set to be the next keynote speaker at Faulkner University’s annual Benefit Dinner, a longstanding tradition that funds scholarships for students by bringing in high-profile speakers including politicians, professional athletes, and faith leaders.
“This year’s keynote speaker, along with his wife Terry, founded an organization that has gone above and beyond to care for and support organizations that not only support adopted children and foster care children, but any child who is in critical need,” said Faulkner President D. Mitchell Henry. “They have supported education organizations as well as those who provide direct services to the most vulnerable children in this state and other states.
Saban, who recently retired, will head Faulkner’s biggest fundraiser of the year on Oct. 3, in the middle of the college football season. “People admire and respect him as an individual,” said Henry. “They admire and respect his, his drive for excellence, as well as his drive for purpose. And we believe it’ll be a wonderful evening for folks to share together with the family.
“Our theme this year as a university is relevance. This university is relevant as we aim to impact education, health care, justice and prosperity in this region,” Henry added. “We are committed to bringing awareness to what needs to change, what needs to be improved and how we can directly impact this world in a meaningful way as a Christian university.
