Nicola Bulley's loose dog harness explained as family submits request to coroner after 'rumour, suspicion and speculation'
The partner of Nicola Bulley explained why their dog's harness was removed on the day she went missing as he gave evidence at her inquest.
They said: “At approximately 9.30am Nicola Bulley, on the balance of probabilities, died in the river due to an accidental death. The family are comforted by the evidence that Nikki’s death would have been very soon after she entered the water.” The inquest first heard that her medical cause of death was drowning before experts explained their belief that she would likely have been unconscious within seconds of entering the water.
According to Paul, Nicola worked for herself but had built up relationships with various companies such as Love Homes, Concept Living - a new-build construction company, and Exclusively Mortgages. She had a meeting planned at 11am the morning she disappeared and had “quite a lot of paperwork to get ready” for another meeting that afternoon.
He replied: "“When she got back to the bench she is still listening to a conference call. She must have put the phone on the bench and then gone to put the harness back on Willow.”
