In a statement, Police Scotland said: “A 52-year-old woman has today, Sunday, 11 June, 2023, been arrested as a suspect in connection with the ongoing investigation into the funding and finances of the Scottish National Party.The party’s former chief executive Peter Murrell, who is Ms Sturgeon’s husband, and current treasurer Colin Beattie, were both previously arrested in relation to the investigation but were later released without charge pending further enquiries.
Police Scotland are currently investigating how more than £660,000 in donations to the SNP, earmarked for an independence referendum, had been used.
