Police Scotland confirmed Peter Murrell, 58, has been arrested.
Police have cordoned off Nicola Sturgeon's home after her husband Peter Murrell was arrested in connection with an investigation into the funding and finances of the Scottish National Party.
A cordon was erected around the property in South Lanarkshire on Wednesday morning. Officers remain at the scene and a blue police tent has been set up in the driveway.A number of searches are being carried out at various addresses as part of the investigation, Police Scotland have confirmed.
“The man is in custody and is being questioned by Police Scotland detectives. Officers are also carrying out searches at a number of addresses as part of the investigation.Top news stories today “The matter is active for the purposes of the Contempt of Court Act 1981 and the public are therefore advised to exercise caution if discussing it on social media. As the investigation is ongoing we are unable to comment further.
