On June 5, 2024, double Eisner Award winner and comic book artist Bruno Redondo posted on his X account a dare for fans: find a DC villain with a “more stupid” name and proposal than his self-created Gotham villain, Dr. De-Extinguisher King. This wild character debuted in Redondo’s Harley Quinn: Black + White + Redder #6.
What makes Dr. De-Extinguisher such a welcome addition to the DC Universe is his embodiment of the old-school absurdity that characterized many classic villains.
