We have been friends for so long, so super special.” There were six women who had cleared 4.75 metres but only Kennedy and Moon remained after the jump at 4.85 metres.
“I threw my arms up in the air and then she jumped it. I think that just shows how much of a fierce competitor she is, she is the GOAT of the sport so yeah, respect to her.” Kennedy is also only the second Australian to hold a pole vault world title after Steve Hooker who took out the title in 2009 in Berlin, a year after he became Olympic champion in Beijing.
