Smaller games can easily get lost in the massive Xbox Game Pass library... here are some low-key greats that you should try out!
We've come this far without so much as a mention of a roguelite or a Metroidvania-style game, so let's end on a one-two punch of those pretty common Game Pass archetypes. We'll start with the latter, with the tongue twister of a title that is, an exploration-based action platformer and the latest in a long line of games based on an Eighties fantasy novel series.
Structurally, it's a pretty straightforward Metroidvania game but it does have a few neat ideas up its sleeve to help set it apart from the crowded pack. There are a handful of slightly fiddly achievements, but since all of them have guides on the site, you can just play through at your leisure then mop those up later — unlike some similar games, the Boss Russ grade ones are actually dead easy if you leave those until last when you're already somewhat overlevelled.
