Far right protester Tommy Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, leads protesters through the streets of Chinatown where they scuffled with police amid heightened tensions over a pro-Palestine march on Armistice Day.
Met Police officers were badly injured after far-right ‘hooligans’ launched an attack near the Cenotaph Nine police officers suffered injuries during violent clashes with far-right mobs who were trying to get to the Cenotaph, the Met Police has said. Two of the officers hurt were taken to hospital with a fractured elbow and suspected dislocated hip after ugly scenes erupted either side of the Armistice Day ceremony in London.
AC Twist also condemned the behaviour of breakaway groups from the pro-Palestine demonstration ‘behaving in an intimidating manner’ at the end of the march. ‘While the Palestine Solidarity Campaign march did not see the sort of physical violence carried out by the right wing, we know that for London’s Jewish communities whose fears and concerns we absolutely recognise, the impact of hate crime and in particular anti-Semitic offences is just as significant,’ he said.
