A new rumour has hinted at the power of the Nintendo Switch successor, with claims it will have a fan and a 60W charger.
The Switch 2 might need less time to charge With Nintendo promising it will announce the follow-up to the Switch before April 2025, that leaves roughly seven more months of speculation around the console. There’s already been a wealth of reports indicating it will be an ‘iterative’ improvement over its predecessor, with magnetic Joy-Cons, an 8-inch LCD screen, backwards compatibility, and stronger third-party support.
There’s no indication of what the fans will be used for, with some fans speculating that one will be in the dock. Either way though, that suggests a significantly more powerful console than the original, that requires much more effort to cool down. The current Switch models only have one internal fan and none in the dock, so changing that arrangement also risks increasing the amount of noise generated by the console.
