More evidence has emerged that Nintendo is working on a new Mario game but also that it is, or was, planning a Super Mario Odyssey follow-up.

Was there supposed to be Super Mario Odyssey DLC? Although Nintendo often launches a new console with a new big budget Mario game it hasn’t happened enough that it’s always guaranteed to happen. After all, the Switch’s biggest launch title was the cross-gen Zelda: Breath Of The Wild.

In these previous examples, you can see the other part of the codename doesn’t seem to mean anything obvious but the basic format of SPRed certainly points towards a big budget new Mario game. The Odyssey codename is particularly useful to know because Midori also claims that Nintendo was working on something with the codename of SilverStar.
