Six-seater gets a 100kWh battery with 316 miles of range, and up to 644bhp
China’s premium electric vehicle manufacturer Nio has revealed a six-seater, which will top the brand’s range in Europe and will seek to rival the luxury Mercedes EQS SUV and BMW iX. Measuring 5099 mm long, 1750mm high and 2199mm wide, the EL8 is Nio’s largest model yet and comes with high-end equipment and “generous” space for six. Two models are available, starting with the standard range EL8, which is fitted with a 75kWh battery as standard, which offers 288 miles of range .
To rival the more luxurious credentials of the likes of the Mercedes EQS SUV, the EL8 includes dual chamber air suspension and continuous damping control as standard, which monitors real-road conditions to improve ride comfort. Nio has also equipped the model with its Hydraulic Rebound Stop system to absorb bumps and potholes. Inside, the EL8 gets a choice of two interior layouts.
