A further electrified patrol fleet
The typical patrol car fleet consists of sedans, pickups, and the occasional SUV. But the folks at the North Luzon Expressways Corporation have decided to do things differently with its latest addition of units.
In a bid to further lessen its carbon footprint, it has added a fleet of electrified crossovers to its fleet. Their choices? The Nissan Kicks e-Power and Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV.Ford Ranger and Everest get V6 diesel power in Thailand. Will PH be next? The exact number of units are unknown, but NLEX Corp says it now has six electrified vehicles in its motor pool. The company adds that it is expecting eight more units set to arrive later this month.
The Nissan Kicks e-Power uses a 1.2-liter engine that serves as a generator for its batteries and electric motor. That helps it put out 136hp and 250Nm of torque coursed through the front wheels. Meanwhile the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV makes use of both its electric motors and 2.4-liter engine to give it a total system output of 221hp and about 200Nm of torque.
As for other green initiatives, NLEX Corp will be adding more solar and renewable energy sources within its facilities. EV charging stations will also be part of the changes, along with rainwater recovery systems and tree-planting activities.
