🚨😱 Ofcom flooded with complaints about 'The British Meat Miracle' mockumentary
Ofcom hasn’t launched an investigation into a recent mockumentary claiming there is a human meat factory in Lincolnshire which attracted over 800 complaints.Some viewers saw the funny side of the satire about the cost of living crisis, while others claimed the subject matter was disgusting.This takes the total figure to over 800, with the majority complaining about the show’s controversial subject matter.
Love Island topped the complaints this week, with 913 being made about the main series and another 219 about the live final.Maggie Lydon said:"He's gone down in my estimation for making this program. I usually watch him but when I read what it was all about I didn't watch it.
Gregg Wallace, best known for presenting Masterchef, has defended the mockumentary, simply posting: “Satire”, and directing viewers towards a historical essay by Jonathan Swift. ‘The British Meat Miracle’ took viewers inside a fictional factory near Boston where genetically-engineered human meat was grown from samples.Together with Michel Roux Jnr, a two Michelin star chef who runs the London restaurant Le Gavroche, Gregg sampled three ‘human meat’ steaks and tried to identify the donor.
