CLEVELAND, Ohio - The former East Cleveland police chief was sentenced Thursday in Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas to five years probation and 600 hours of community service.On March 12, one day after Scott Gardner’s bench trial began in front of Judge Jeffrey Saffold, Gardner pleaded guilty to the charge of collecting and failing to remit, a felony of the fourth degree.
