Amidst a particularly tear-inducing death by Demo-bats and a brand-new villain, you might've lost sight of one of this season's best storylines—Will Byers seemingly struggling with his sexuality and his friendship with Mike.
In the past, when Noah Schapp—who plays Will in the series—talked about his character's sexuality, he'd says things along the lines of,"it’s up to the audience’s interpretation." Now, though, in an interview with"I mean, it’s pretty clear this season that Will has feelings for Mike," Schnapp said."They’ve been intentionally pulling that out over the past few seasons. Even in Season One, they hinted at that and slowly, slowly grew that storyline.
It makes sense. Even as far back as Season One, Upside Down antics aside, Will always seemed like he had difficulty fully fitting in with his friends. Later on in the interview,asked if Schnapp only avoided saying that Will is gay because he considered it a spoiler."Yeah, I think it is [a spoiler]," he said.
