Instrument sold for £4,500 more than highest estimate
A Noel Gallagher guitar which sold at auction will boost a campaign to save Salford Lads and Girls Club. The autographed Cherry Hofner Verythin was used during his time with Oasis for studio recordings.
Meanwhile an exhibition of Oasis memorabilia and a record fair to be staged at the club on November 23 and 24 is set to raise thousands of pounds. A similar exhibition in June was deemed a massive success by organisers. "So when they asked me to come back and help save the club it was a no brainer.
