Gov. Kristi Noem has been trending on social media over the last two days as her fellow governors mocked her for admitting she shot and killed her hunting dog.
revealed that Noem “hated” her 14-month-old dog because it was “less than worthless” at hunting. As some online raged over the anecdote, Democratic governors decided to flood their feeds with photos of their own dogs.

Noem defended her actions in a post, saying, “Tough decisions like this happen all the time on a farm,” and claimed three horses were euthanized after 25 years, which is the average lifespan of a horse. Wirehair pointers, such as the one Noem fatally shot, typically live to about 12 years of age.
