Current activities and future plans spark debate
Worries have been raised about noise disturbance and loss of privacy to residents around a plan to extend delivery hours at a proposed greenhouse business under development in West Lancashire.
A number of people in the Taylor family have roles with Arden Lea. Abigayle Boardman, of Acland Bracewell surveyors in Tarleton, is an agent for the application. Today, environmental health and highways officers have no objections to the latest application to change the times. In a covering letter supporting the new planning application, Abigayle Boardman says 'development has commenced and permission is extant', meaning it still exists. She also says other horticulture businesses, such as Huntapac Produce Limited, are understood to operate from 6am to 10pm daily.
She added: "The existing occupiers want to extend the hours in the morning but also the evening. As a neighbour, the current situation is that HGV drivers arriving early can look over our fence into the three bedrooms of our property which face the applicant's driveway. Currently, vehicles are frequently left to wait at the gate, until someone arrives to unlock the gates. This is not appropriate from 7.30am and it is not appropriate from before 6.
