as lovers across the class divide, the new episodes will air on Irish television tomorrow.
We’re excited, but don’t lose your heads. Rather than signifying a bonafide second series, the episodes are two, short clips put together for RTÉ Does Comic Relief in Ireland. But with Paul and Daisy confirmed to reprise their already iconic roles, that’ll do us quite nicely. Richard Curtis, co-founder of Comic Relief and the man behind hit rom-coms like Four Weddings And A Funeral and Love Actually, confirmed the news, and explained that the specials will imagine Daisy and Paul’s future.
Speaking on RTE Radio 1, he explained the schedule for the fundraiser. 'There's a beautiful piece called Normal Older People, which is imagining what would have happened to Marianne and Connell 40 years from now,’ he explained.'I mean I can't even say all about it because there's a guest star in it. But it's really, it's really beautiful. One of the things about Comic Relief is it just gives opportunities for things to happen that would never happen.
The specials will be directed by Lenny Abrahamson, who helmed the original series. But who will show up as the guest star? We can’t wait to find out…
