Several zebras got loose on I-90 near North Bend after the driver transporting the animals stopped to secure their trailer, Washington State Patrol says.
Authorities in King County continue to search for a zebra that escaped a trailer in North Bend near I-90 on Sunday afternoon.A spokesperson for the Washington State Patrol said four zebras being transported out of state escaped at around 1 p.m. Sunday when the driver stopped to secure the trailer along eastbound I-90. Three of the zebras have been captured, but one is still loose, according to the WSP.
Danton said he was traveling through the area, and given his skills, decided to stop and help."It’s just what you do," he said. "Neighbors helping neighbors. I was just quiet and gentle and just took the path of least resistance. They gently walked up and got in the trailer and they’re fine so it ended well."The third zebra, believed to be a baby, was found in another neighbor's yard."We just all worked together to keep it in the yard," said Courtney Luther.
