North Korean state media confirmed on Wednesday that sections of roads and railways leading to South Korea have been destroyed through blasting. Pyongyang claims this is a “legitimate measure” in response to what it calls the South’s hostile actions, including the use of drones to drop propaganda leaflets.

Referring to the destruction of the roads and railways, KCNA said “this is an inevitable and legitimate measure” that follows the North Korean constitution “which clearly defines the ROK as a hostile state”, referring to the South’s official name, the Republic of Korea. KCNA said the blasting targeted 60-meter sections of roads and railways in the east and west sections of the border with South Korea.
