The North Olmsted City Schools this week officially opted into the Ohio Department Of Education And Workforce’s Community Eligibility Provision.

“Based on their new criteria, all of our students grades K-12 are going to have no-cost breakfast and lunch,” North Olmsted City Schools Superintendent Chris Caleris said. “I know a number of school districts have had this put on their plate just because of how the criteria changed. The superintendent said 40 percent of the district’s students qualify for free-or-reduced meal criteria.
“I really believe everyone knows we have a very diverse community. We’re proud of that, so that number does not surprise me.” “I can’t wait till next week,” he said. “There’s always that summer buildup when you close one school year and you’re beginning to kind of set your vision and your ideas for another school year.
