After ongoing renovations, the North Ridgeville Branch Library, 35700 Bainbridge Road, is ready to welcome the community during an open house from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 1.

The clean-up and finishing touches continue at the North Ridgeville Branch Library in advance of the June 1 open house.“One of the most highly requested parts of this renovation was the dedicated Teen Space,” said Jennifer Black, LPLS director of marketing and public relations. “There are not a lot of places for teens to gather where they don’t need to spend money to just hang out.
Families can enjoy music, movement activities and play while reading nature-themed stories during Story Time in the Woods sponsored by the library. Summer dates/times include June 14, 28; July 12, 26; and Aug. 9, 23 from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the Every Child’s Playground, 36265 Detroit Road. Dress for the weather and bring a blanket.The city has received the Tree City USA 31st Year Award with 2nd Year Growth Award from the National Arbor Day Foundation.
The library system is also offering a Summer Reading Challenge from June 10 to Aug. 10 that is available to all ages. According to Jennifer Winkler, director of Community Engagement, this summer’s game boards will promote adventures that take place not only in our backyards, but around the world, as well as a variety of STEM-related programs. The program is free to participate, but to be eligible for prizes, participants must register in- person, online or by phone.
