Two helicopters went to assist Stena Spey, with oil firm Stena Drilling confirming all 89 people on board are accounted for.
An oil rig lost several anchors after being battered by severe wind and strong waves during Storm Babet. Coastguard helicopters were scrambled to assist off the coast of Aberdeen.
Stena Drilling said the rig is stable, the well remains secure and that all 89 personnel on the rig are accounted for. An HM Coastguard spokesperson said it had sent two helicopters to assist the platform facing strong waves in the North Sea. The Esvagt Cappa is on standby to provide support.
