Glenn Irwin was fastest in the big bikes ahead of Davey Todd and Michael Dunlop
Glenn Irwin threw down the gauntlet to his North West 200 rivals with an impressive opening qualifying session on his Hager PBM Ducati.
Davey Todd is quickest so far with a time of 4:19:491 on his Milwaukee liveried TAS Racing BMW, ahead of Glenn Irwin and Peter Hickman .Home favourite Michael Dunlop says he would love to stand on the top step of the podium at this week's North West 200.'I would like one. It has eluded me for quite a while. Something has always come up. I'd like to have a win here and Thursday and Saturday we will have a push.
He is SIX seconds quicker than Davey Todd , followed by Peter Hickman , Dean Harrison, Adam McLean and James Hillier.Phillip McCallen told the BBC: "It is easy for people to sit at home and say 'Why don't they just put him on that bike?'. But we all know there are diffeent mafitacturers and sponsors who have enough of a say to not make it happen.
He has already earned legendary status, even if his current career is often punctuated by the word 'veteran'.
