Farmer Ben referred to Trim as his 'right-hand dog'
A Northamptonshire dog, 11, was stuck for over 24 hours in an underground drain. Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service were called just before 7pm on Monday to a farm just outside Wappenham.
The animal was found to be approximately 1m underground, trapped inside a plastic pipe. The dog, an 11-year-old working sheepdog called Trim, was released from the drain and reunited with farmers Ben and Gemma Hinton and their family. Station Manager Tony Evans said: "As a working sheepdog she would often roam around the yard and farm but it was when Ben went to feed her that he realised she was not in her kennel - where she would normally go.
"Gemma went into the yard on Monday and heard a muffled whimper but couldn’t locate where the noise was coming from. She went to get her other dogs to see if they could locate Trim.
