The golden toilet had only been on show for two days before it was stolen and is valued at £4.8m

A Wellingborough man has been charged with burglary following the theft of a golden toilet from Blenheim Palace in 2019. James Sheen will appear at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on November 28.

Following an investigation from Thames Valley Police, four men in total have been charged in relation to the theft. Sheen, of Wellingborough, has been charged with one count of burglary, one count of conspiracy to transfer criminal property and one count of transferring property. Michael Jones, of Oxford, has been charged with one count of burglary. Fred Doe, of Ascot, and Bora Guccuk, of West London, have both been charged with one count each of conspiracy to transfer criminal property.

The fully-functioning golden toilet was stolen from Blenheim Palace on September 14, 2019. It was previously displayed at the Guggenheim Museum in New York and valued at $6m .View gallery Blenheim Palace, in Oxfordshire, became its home before it was stolen. It had only been on show for two days.
