A 24-year-old man from Northern Ireland, Aaron Johnston, tragically passed away after falling ill while competing in a half marathon in Glasgow, Scotland. Emergency services responded to the incident at Glasgow Green, but he died a short time later at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. There are believed to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

A young man, aged 24, from Northern Ireland has tragically passed away after falling ill while competing in a half marathon in Scotland on Sunday.

The man has been named locally as Aaron Johnston from Enniskillen in Co Fermanagh who had been taking part in the Half Marathon Winter Warmer Run in the park at the time of the incident. The incident occurred around 11.15 am at Glasgow Green on February 2, with emergency services quickly arriving at the scene.

The man was rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment, but sadly, he died a short time later. It is believed there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."We are completely heartbroken that our precious Aaron Johnston, Son of Niall and Joy and brother to Hayley, Adam and Jessica died suddenly yesterday. Words cannot describe what we are going through now," they said.
