As autumn officially begins, Scottish stargazers have a new chance to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights this week.
"The auroral oval has been enhanced as a result of the coronal mass ejection arrival late on 24 Sep," reads the Met Office forecast. The latest bout is thanks to large bursts of magnetic fields, known as coronal mass ejection , that appeared on Sunday , one day after the autumn equinox.
