Mr Dutton said the funding would be a “game-changer for young Australians” wanting to get into the housing market, but Labor’s Murray Watt has attacked the Coalition’s approach to the housing crisis. “It's pretty revealing that after all of this time, the only plan that Peter Dutton has put forward is pretty much exactly the same plan that we've had operating for months,” Mr Watt said on ABC Insiders.
Mr Watt said the Albanese government had committed $4.5 billion to critical infrastructure to enable development at greenfield sites. "He's blocking the $5 billion Help to Buy scheme. There's a New Homes Bonus scheme that we've put in place with states and territories that he'll cut as well.
