George Russell says there is 'nothing telling' Mercedes that they cannot mount an F1 2023 title challenge.
It was a very frustrating 2022 season for Mercedes, their W13 unable to come even close to extending the team’s streak of successive Constructors’ titles. That streak then ended at eight as Mercedes managed only P3 in the final standings.
Russell takes a great deal of confidence from the way Mercedes improved across the season, from contending with the midfield outfits snapping at their heels, to a race winner and third-fastest team behind Red Bull and Ferrari on their worst day. “The fact now we are in a position to fight for race victories shows a lot. So, I’ve got every bit of confidence in this team.
