It's a critical time for Nottingham City Council . The new leader and chief executive have both signalled in recent months that further cuts will be "inevitable" in Nottingham.
The Labour group of councillors controlling the city council passed a motion at a recent meeting agreeing to appoint a "peace champion." The role will be carried out by an elected councillor and their role will simply be to "promote peace." It's a move that has displeased some of the more carnivorously-inclined councillors, some of whom are still reeling from not even being provided with a cup of tea during a mammoth eight-hour budget meeting in March. Ultimately, I'm not particularly concerned whether councillors are being fed turkey or tofu.
