Manchester United and Manchester City have been linked with a summer move for Elliot Anderson who continues to impress for Nottingham Forest
Nottingham Forest head coach Vitor Pereira admits he is unsure whether Manchester United and Manchester City-linked Elliot Anderson will stay. The England international has enjoyed a brilliant season at the City Ground and scored Forest's equaliser in Sunday's 1-1 draw at home to Newcastle United.
Anderson joined the East Midlands club from Newcastle in July 2024 for around £35million and has since established himself as one of the best young players in the Premier League . City and United are monitoring the 23-year-old's progress before a potential summer move for the £100m-rated star. Manchester Evening News understands that Pep Guardiola's side are frontrunners to sign Anderson.

The Portuguese has heaped praise on the midfielder, but remains uncertain over his future at Forest. Speaking via the Irish Examiner , he said: “I cannot say , I don’t have the answer. I know he deserves the top of the world. FOLLOW OUR MAN CITY FB PAGE!

The midfielder dedicated his goal against Newcastle to his mum, with Pereira crediting the player's character.
He added: “It’s difficult for everybody to understand what he is feeling inside. He honoured his mother on the pitch by running until the last minute. He wanted to score a goal a lot, and he believed until the end.
“He is a very talented player, but has a very strong character. He has the quality to score goals. In the warm-up, my assistant said that Elliot was on fire; every shot he took, he scored.
“He had the funeral of his mother two days ago, and I think he wanted to honour his mother today, that’s why he tried so hard until the last minute. 'He plays for himself, but he plays for her too. ”
