Nottingham Forest completed the loan signing of Andrey Santos from Chelsea this summer, but his parent club 'named' him in their starting XI on Wednesday
Nottingham Forest summer signing Andrey Santos bizarrely appeared on Chelsea's team-sheet ahead of their EFL Cup hosting of Brighton and Hove Albion on Wednesday night! Santos joined Forest on loan from the Blues in the transfer window this summer and made his debut in the EFL Cup defeat at home to Burnley, in which he played 89 minutes.
Santos has never played a game for Chelsea, having been signed from Brazilian club Vasco in January of this year, and he returned to Vasco on loan in March before being granted his first opportunity to source top flight football with Forest, as a part of their summer overhaul. In a rather embarrassing slip up made by his parent club, Santos was listed in the starting XI for Chelsea's tie with Brighton at Stamford Bridge in the place of the player who was actually starting the game - Cole Palmer, the summer signing from Manchester City. Santos was even attributed Palmer's number 20 on the team-sheet.
And that decision by Steve Cooper did not gone down well with Chelsea fans on social media, who were calling for the player to be recalled to Stamford Bridge. You can read what what just some had to say here.
