Tras esta decisión el equipo se mantiene en peligro de descenso a falta de dos jornadas en la temporada. La liga indicó el martes que la junta de apelación decidió mantener la decisión que tomó un panel independiente en marzo y con lo que Forest cayó a la zona de descenso.
El club presentó una apelación argumentando que —la comisión no consideró como un factor mitigante, los 47,5 millones de libras por la venta del jugador Brennan Johnson poco después de que concluyó el periodo de tres años evaluado y por lo tanto debieron suspender toda o parte de la deducción de puntos.
