The Reds have been linked with a move for the 26-year-old, with reports from Brazil last week suggesting a deal was being worked on. It was said details were being kept secret due to the player being involved in the Copa Libertadores final at the weekend.
The report states the Brazilian is “destined” for a switch to the City Ground and has rejected better financial offers to make the move in January. It is expected he will see out the rest of his club’s season, which ends with the Club World Cup in December. Nino was asked about Forest’s interest on Friday prior to the Copa Libertadores, which Fluminense won by beating Boca Juniors 2-1. He is quoted as saying: “I found out this morning. It's not something I want to talk about at the moment because nothing other than tomorrow's final interests me.”
