Nottingham Forest are said to have joined the list of Premier League clubs interested in doing business with Arsenal for striker Eddie Nketiah.
As Taiwo Awoniyi - often a fitness doubt - and 32-year-old Chris Wood remain his only options up top, a move for a striker late in the window has been touted. Feyenoord's Santiago Gimenez has been a name prominently mentioned, however the latest update suggests the answer could be found closer to home.
This revelation follows a report by sister site, football.london, in which top-flight rivals were credited with interest as the Gunners prepare for a 'bidding war'. That said, Forest's supposed competition each come with reason to suggest they would not stand as too much of a threat. Marseille, now managed by former Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi, reportedly saw two offers turned down for the striker who has scored 38 goals in 168 Arsenal appearances earlier this summer. They have since turned elsewhere, signing Elye Wahi from RC Lens.
