The Little London Herbal Store, a Nottingham institution for 50 years, is expanding with a new location in Eastwood. The family-run business, known for its range of herbal goods and dedication to keeping customers informed about new and modern herbs, shared the exciting news with loyal customers on Christmas Eve.

A city herbalist that has called Nottingham home for the last five decades has taken the decision to expand as it looks to open a new store. Loyal customers of The Little London Herbal Store in Trinity Walk - off Upper Parliament Street - were delighted to see the happy announcement on Christmas Eve, which came in the form of a smiley selfie from the owners and a fresh set of keys to the new property.

A statement from the trio read: "We are expanding. Little London is getting a little bit bigger. We are pleased to tell everyone that we are opening a second store in Eastwood." Manager Kerry Nixon, 39, Mr Freeman's granddaughter, said: "My grandad's heart actually just stopped, he was just old and it stopped suddenly. We didn't want flowers for his funeral, we asked for donations for the defibrillator. We thought that it would be nice to have something that people could remember him by."

"Even when he stepped back in the late 90s he used to come in and move all the displays about, which used to drive my mum up the wall. He was really passionate about helping people and doing a good job for the customers that would come in, even when I completed my masters in herbalism he was always offering his support and words of advice."
