The Care Quality Commission is investigating and could prosecute Nottingham University Hospital Trust over the deaths of three babies. All three babies died in 2021 at City Hospital.
The investigation comes amid a wide-scale review of maternity services at Queen's Medical Centre and Nottingham City Hospital. It is understood that at least 1,800 families are part of the review, which is the largest to be carried out of its kind in the UK..The CQC is examining three deaths that took place at Nottingham City Hospital in April, June, and July 2021.
Kahlani Rawson was born on June 11, 2021, and died just four days later on June 15. An inquest concluded that there had been a delay in a Caesarean section and without the delay, Kahlani would not have died.
