The Queen's Drive Park and Ride in Nottingham has been closed since January 6th due to flooding. While conditions have improved, major repairs may be needed and the site remains shut. Alternative park and ride options are available.
A Nottingham park-and-ride site closed for over a week after flooding and is still a long way off being reopened as major repairs may be needed. The Queen's Drive Park and Ride, used by NCT bus passengers, closed on January 6 due to a risk of flooding.
Nottingham City Council confirmed late on Tuesday that the site remains closed and that assessments will be carried out in the coming days on the damage done by the weather. The site, located off the banks of the River Trent, has regularly been forced to close due to flooding in recent years. The facility also had to close after Travellers descended on the car park in late November 2024. In an update on the flooding situation on Tuesday, the city council said: "Conditions have improved considerably over the past few days, ice has melted and we're hoping to get a sweeper on site tomorrow to clear up floodwater debris. Then we'll look to start site infrastructure testing and carry out repairs if needed.
Alternative sites are available at Nottingham Racecourse near Colwick Park, as well as tram park-and-ride sites at Clifton, Toton Lane, The Forest, Hucknall, Moor Bridge, Phoenix Park and Wilkinson Street.
