Nottingham's Goose Fair will be will be returning for 10 days once again this year. It's the third time since the aftermath of the pandemic that the annual event has had an extended run.
Traditionally the fair used to start on the first Wednesday in October and ran for five days until the Sunday. However, this year's fair will start on Friday, September 27, from 4pm, and end on Sunday, October 6. More than 100 rides, games, and food and drink stalls will taking over the Forest Recreation Ground. Last year's fair attracted just over 500,000 visitors, slightly down on the previous year due to six days of rain.When surveyed nearly 54 percent of people said they preferred the fair to be spread over 10 days. One said: "More days makes it less crowded" and another said: "A longer run is better as the weather is really unpredictable at this time of year.
However, other wanted it to return to the traditional format of five days. One comment was "The disruption to residents is too great over ten days."
