Nottingham Beach has been given an exotic facelift this year, hoping to convince punters they're living it up in Santorini - but some were quick to point out the two destinations are not so similar after all
Santorini is undoubtedly an ideal getaway, a slice of heaven on Earth for those in pursuit of warm sun and cultural riches.
But this makeshift urban beach is offering much more than just sand underfoot. Visitors can enjoy splashing in a pool, sipping drinks at the bar, taking spins on fairground rides, and partaking in various thrilling summer activities, including outdoor movies and salsa dancing at the venue on Old Market Square.
Amid the reactions, one Instagram user didn't hold back, commenting: "I'm sorry but this looks nothing like Santorini. The sand is black for a start and where are all the blue churches? Just stick to what you know and don't try and make it something that it's not."
