Nottingham's Winter Wonderland in Old Market Square is back and attracting around two million visitors annually. This year's event, running until December 31, offers a variety of food stalls and bars. Visitors can enjoy German sausages, Yorkshire pudding wraps, and other holiday treats, with most prices remaining the same as last year.
It's not Christmas until you've had a cup of mulled wine or one of the 'famous' Yorkshire pudding wraps from Nottingham 's Winter Wonderland . The annual event in Old Market Square now attracts in the region of two million visitors, so that's an awful lot of bratwurst.
There's also smoked bockwurst, kasekrainer, a smoked sausage with cheese, and chilli krakauer, a smoked sausage with chilli. All are priced £8. Pastel de Nata This little gem can be found amongst the gift stalls lining Long Row. The Portugese custard tarts are making their debut at Winter Wonderland and they’re one of the most affordable treats on sale priced £2 each or six for a tenner.
Yorkshire Pudding Wraps Always a favourite - a roast dinner in one of the 'famous' Yorkshire pudding wraps, which is back in its usual spot next to the carousel overlooking Long Row. One of the most filling things to eat on the market, it's a meal in itself rather than a snack. Dutch pancakes are smaller than a crepe, with ten to a portion, served in a cardboard carton. Toppings include Nutella, white chocolate, Lotus Biscoff, Smarties, banana, strawberry sauce and golden syrup. With one topping the price is £6.50, or with two, it's £7.50.
Don't forgot to let it cool down - your mouth will thank you. Three supersized marshmallows will set you back £4.50. The Ferrero Rocher stall, dubbed the 'golden experience' is also the place for zeppole, which are sweet Italian doughnut balls, £5 - if you add Nutella and Ferrero Rocher, its £7. Freshly ground coffee, from Americano to cappuccino, is £4.
Alternative ways of getting a cheesy fix is Raclette Alps, costing £10, which has the addition of bacon and mushrooms. Monsieur Melt, a grilled cheese and ham sandwich with Dijon mustard is back, priced £9, and Hot Melt, a spicy grilled cheese sandwich with jalapenos, roquito chillies and jumbo pickle, also £9. Mac 'n' cheese is also sold, £7.
