Six have made it into the top 10 across four categories

Nottingham High School has been named the best independent school in the East Midlands on The Sunday Times' prestigious annual Parent Power Guide. The 2025 edition of the list, which ranks the highest-achieving primary and secondary schools in different categories nationally and regionally, has been published today, Friday, December 6.

While no county schools made it into the grammar and comprehensive state schools list, one county school and one city school did make it into the list of just comprehensive schools. They were the Minster School in Southwell, at sixth, and the Becket School in West Bridgford at seventh. And Nottingham Girls' High School, next door, was ranked in sixth place, at 130th nationally. For primary schools, Nottinghamshire again saw two schools ranked in the top 10. Archbishop Cranmer CofE Academy, in Aslockton in the east of the county, was ranked eighth, and 239th nationally. And Welbeck Primary School, in the Meadows, made it into the list at 10th, 298th in the country.
