🔴 Detectives have been given a further 36 hours to question a 31-year-old man about the murder of three people in Nottingham
, both 19, were killed on their way home from a night out on Tuesday on Ilkeston Road while the body of school caretaker Ian Coates, 65, was found about two miles away on Magdala Road.
The force has referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct as a marked police car followed the suspect’s van for a short distance before it collided with two pedestrians. The sheltered accommodation facility on Mapperley Road is just around the corner from Magdala Road where the body of Mr Coates was found. It’s believed the suspect stabbed the grandfather shortly after trying to force his way into the hostel.
