A former vicar from Nottingham, Reverend Henry Curran, has been ordered to undergo anger management counselling following complaints about his behavior. The Reverend's outbursts reportedly made some parishioners feel their faith was being undermined.

Reverend Curran, ordained in 2003 and serving as the priest at St Mary's Church in Wollaton Park from 2007, faced disciplinary action from the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham after allegations against him were brought to the bishop's tribunal in February 2024. Eight incidents, occurring between 2009 and 2021, were investigated by the tribunal. One particularly concerning incident involved Reverend Curran sending a threatening text message to a former friend after their relationship ended. In the message, he expressed his intention to take his own life, stating he had a ladder and rope in his car. Another incident saw Reverend Curran entering a bathroom during a Lake District holiday with his family and finding a female parishioner in the shower. Despite this discovery, he reportedly did not leave the room. Reverend Curran has been permitted to continue his role as a priest in Moreton-in-Marsh, but with conditions. He is required to complete anger management counselling, ethics training, and professional boundary maintenance. A senior cleric will also be appointed to oversee his ministry for the next two years
