The Magpies have now won three of the last four with Stuart Maynard beginning to get a tune out of the team consistently
Scott Robertson reflected positively on his first few months at Notts County despite the team’s overall struggles since the turn of the year. The 22-year-old returned to the starting line-up in the win over Colchester United at the weekend, having missed the wins over Harrogate Town and Walsall through injury.
“I thought we were pretty dominant against a good Colchester side,” said Robertson about the latest victory. “From the start of the game, we dominated the ball and that continued for long spells throughout the game.“It was frustrating to pick up the knock at the time that I did within the season but it was good to be back out there again and to help the team pick up a good win.
Problems were arising towards the end of Williams’ tenure with performances, and that continued as Maynard arrived. It was a tough situation for Robertson to come into on the pitch, as the team won just two of the first 14 games he was involved in. He added: “It’s about making a good case for myself in this team given we’re at the end of the season now. The last few results have been okay after the form in February and March which has let us down in the end. The last five have been good for the most part and, hopefully, we can take some of that positive momentum into our preparations for next season.
