Fr. Samuel Estrope II, Parochial Vicar of Parokya ng Santiago Apostol in Plaridel, Bulacan.
The theme for this year's feast is 'Mas Mabuti ang Pagsunod kaysa Paghahandog sa mga Umaasa kay Jesus.' (Obeying is better than offering for those who trust in Jesus)The annual feast kicked off last December 31 with a Walk of Thanksgiving on the streets around Quiapo Church.Millions of devotees flock to Quiapo Church every January 9 to honor the Jesus Nazareno, hoping for answered prayers or miracles to be received in their lives.Among the highlights of the feast is the Traslacion, or the procession of the 400-year-old black image of Jesus Nazareno from Quirino Grandstand to Quiapo Church.
